Adult DIY: Moth Brooch (MID)
Adults – Want to add some whimsy to your wardrobe? Learn to create a brooch with felt, sequins, buttons, and embroidery. We will create a moth brooch that looks as if it has alighted on your collar.

Family— Looking for a “gourd” ol’ time? Come “creep” it real with us as we read spook-tacular stories, play a ghoulish game, and bug out with some creepy-crawly crafts; we’ll even make some scrumptious s’mores! Sponsored by the Friends of the Midland Library.
STEAM Explorers: The Floating Pumpkin (MID)
Ages 6-11 – Do you love all things SCIENCE? Join us for engaging, hands-on activities exploring the fields of science, technology, and art.
Ages 6-11 – What do pumpkins, corn syrup, vegetable oil, and water have in common? Let’s “carve out” some fun this fall by using those materials to learn about density. We’ll even patch things up with a cool 3-D pumpkin craft.
A Very Harry Halloween (MID)
All Ages – Come dressed in your Halloween costume or your finest Harry Potter gear! We’ll be celebrating the holiday with some of our favorite creepy, spooky, and gross things from the wizarding world! Enjoy crafts and trivia as well to test your HP knowledge.
Docu-Days: Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am (MID)
Ages 13 and up – Join us for a documentary series about famous people! This month, to encourage people to read freely, we will watch Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am, about a Nobel prize winning author whose books are removed from many public institutions. Fire Prevention Baby/Toddler Story Time (MID)
Ages 0-3 with caregiver – To celebrate National Fire Prevention Month we will have Cabarrus Deputy Fire Marshall, Ashleigh Ennis, joining for a special story time.
Stuffed Animal Sleepover (HAR)
Family – Family – Bring 1 or 2 of your stuffed animal friends for a special evening storytime! After story time, you are welcome to leave your special pal overnight in the library. Stop by next day at the library to pick up your friend and see how much fun they had!
Star Wars Reads (HAR)
All ages –Kick off the annual Star Wars Reads celebration with a special family Star Wars story time at 11am, or explore with us 4-6pm on a Galactic Grand Tour co-sponsored by the Friends of Harrisburg Library. Drop-in all-day activities include a scavenger hunt, crafts, games, and STEAM projects.
